Q: Where do you provide services?

A: We provide services in the following counties in Illinois: Cook, Will and Dupage County.

We will work with you to ensure that everyone’s needs are met. We can arrange for services ranging from assisting our client with light housekeeping, shopping, and personal care to medication administration visits. No need is too great or too little. We work hard to help our community. 

Q: How are you providing care during Covid? ​

A: Each of the preventative measures recommended by the CDC are already standard practice in our agency, and all professional care staff complete stringent training administered by a Registered Nurse on topics critical to keeping clients safe such as infection control, proper hand washing, and cough and cold etiquette. 

Q: How do you select your caregivers?

A: All of our caregivers are properly screened. We interview everyone in person and/or Zoom and then conduct a thorough reference and criminal background check. Everyone that works with us, from personal caregivers, home health aides to nurses, all have criminal background checks. 

Every one of our caregivers has healthcare experience and proper training and most of our caregivers have advanced training. We match caregivers to you and your family based on the skills needed and personality traits necessary for a good relationship.

Q: What makes Helping Hands different from other companies? 

A: Helping Hands provides care that revolves around you, our client. Our agency is owned and operated by a nurse with over 18 years of experience in the nursing field. Our agency manager and supervisor combined have 40 years of experience in nursing. We are experienced healthcare professionals. The services we provide are custom tailored to each client’s individual needs. We offer services for workers compensation and coming soon in-home labs services. 

Q: What happens if my caregiver is sick? 

A: It’s not a problem. That’s why we employ a team approach. If one home health aide, nurse, or caregiver is sick, another is normally available.

Q: Who pays the caregiver – me or you?

A: Helping Hands handles all payroll and administrative responsibilities for our caregivers. We will walk you through our billing policy and can set up a payment plan. 

Q: Can I change the schedule if I have appointments?

A: Yes, changes are easily accommodated. Our clients’ needs always come first.

Q: Do I have to sign a contract to keep services for a specified period of time?

A: Yes, our agency will review and go over the contract in detail during our meeting. 

Q: Do you have a Registered Nurse on staff?

A: Yes. Every person and family we work with has a registered nurse who leads their care team.

Q: How much do the services cost?

A: Helping Hands offers several levels of care and costs are determined based on each client’s needs including level of service and hours needed per day or week.  Contact us today and have an intake coordinator assess your situation. We will then be more than happy to provide you a quote on the price of services and set up a payment plan that works for you. We are partnered with Molina and Meridian of Illinois for Medicaid recipients and American veterans care connection. 

Q: What is live-in home care? Do you offer 24-hour care or overnight services? ​

A: A live-in caregiver resides in the client’s home and provides consistent 1-on-1 help on a daily basis. Helping Hands offers home care services when your loved one needs either continuous assistance in daily tasks or short-term help while recovering from medical procedures.
